Ethanol
Ethanol is a volatile, flammable, colorless liquid with a characteristic wine-like odor and pungent taste. It is a psychoactive recreational drug, and the active ingredient in alcoholic drinks. It is made by fermenting the sugar or starch in plants such as corn, wheat, barley, sugar cane, and potatoes. Ethanol can be blended with gasoline to form a mixture called gasohol.
