- MPG is available in different purity grades, each of which has an impact on the respective applications.
- USP Grade MPG contains at least 99.8% monopropylene glycol and is used as a food flavoring, as well as having applications across the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and e-cigarette industries.
- Technical Grade MPG is most commonly used as an antifreeze for car engines and for cooling and de-icing purposes.
- Feed Grade MPG meets European quality standards and is mainly used for livestock feed.
- MPG is also highly miscible with other solvent-liquids such as water, alcohols, esters, and ketones.
- Propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, or a mixture of both, are the main ingredients in e-liquid used in electronic cigarettes.
